Our aim has been to combine the individuality and comfort of a small boutique hotel with the freedom and privacy of a private house rental. We have sought out a selection of unique and special properties which have been renovated and furnished to the highest of standards, with care and uncompromising attention to detail. We hope to have created for your holiday, a home away from home, a place where you can relax and escape, and the perfect base from which to explore the stunning surroundings, and indulge the excellent regional cuisine.
LOCATION: Each of our houses has primarily been chosen for its’ unique environment. From the wild natural beauty of the Cap Sizun and Presqu’ile de Crozon to the sweeping parklands of Kistinic and its proximity to the beautiful medieval city of Quimper, each location has something special to offer.
CHARACTER: Each of our houses has its own unique character. With respect to the original building and its environment, we have set about renovating each house to a very high standard, filled with modern comforts and beautiful things. We give priority to natural materials, quality furnishings, beautiful objects whether found on the beach, created by a well known artist, or the recuperated and quirky. Our aim is that each house feels luxuriously cosy, unpretentious and full of soul.
COMFORT: Above all a good night’s sleep is of utmost importance, so we provide high quality beds, and bedding, with crisp white egyptian cotton sheets. Beds are made up for your arrival. Our kitchens are fully equipped and all have top quality appliances. Beautiful modern bathrooms with white fluffy towels and natural toiletries.
RESPECT: We aim to carry out our business in a sustainable and responsible manner, with respect for the environment and surrounding community. We work with local artisans and purchase locally wherever possible. We try and use natural products and encourage rational energy use and recycling in all our houses. Our guest guide books give information on local specialities and customs, and highlight the little gems that so often don't feature in the mainstream guides.
WHAT WE ARE NOT: We are wholeheartedly not corporate. Rather than pursuing what might be have been a more rational course of providing neutral and functional holiday homes in fashionable destinations, our aim has been to offer something a little different. We are a husband and wife team who put our heart and soul into everything that we do. We do what we do because we feel that travel should be about authenticity, and experience, an exchange of ideas and culture and an appreciation and connection with the natural environment. We have found ourselves in a beautiful spot on the planet, and have been privileged enough to indulge our passion for renovating houses that we love, and we would like to share that with others. Living nearby we closely manage the properties and are on hand to answer any questions you might have. Our aim is to offer a truly personal service so that you may make the best of your holiday.
Brittany
This magical part of France is similar to how Cornwall was about 15 years ago. The coastline is very unspoilt, and authentic villages appear untouched for centuries with beautiful stone houses that cluster around intricate churches.
Having seen many of the 'best' beaches in the world, we feel that Brittany can offer some that are the equal to any other. The water is extremely clear in the summer and even in peak season, the best beaches are never crowded. From intimate coves to wide surfing beaches, the area has a huge choice.
Food is consistently excellent and good value.
Spectacular parks, gardens and chateaux are easy to find, and kids always enjoy all the outdoor activities on offer.
Why fly half way around the world when an area so naturally beautiful, with so much to offer is right on your doorstep?!
PLEASE NOTE: Our number one priority is to ensure that our guests have the best holiday possible. It is therefore important to us that our guests make the right choice of area and house. With this in mind, we strongly advise potential customers to take time to browse our website and get a feel for the area and the houses. We would like to point out that the weather in Brittany can be variable and whilst we have seen 28'C and sunny in April, we have also seen 16'C and raining in July! If you prefer guaranteed sunshine you should look in the lower half of France. Finistere's main attraction is it's varied and stunning coastal beauty, rich heritage and traditions, and interesting towns to visit. Guests to our houses at the end of the peninsula might want to note that there are few nightclubs, shopping centres or amusement parks.
We work full time at maintaining our houses and gardens to the very highest of standards, but please bear in mind that things can and do break or stop working, and whilst we will always endeavour to correct any problems immediately, we will do our best but cannot work miracles!
